In the heart of Abuja, Nigeria, Pastor Julius Msheliza leads a thriving congregation of over a thousand people—but his influence reaches far beyond the pulpit. Since his first encounter with the Global Leadership Summit (GLS) in 2013, Julius has carried its impact into communities most in need of hope.

Attending the GLS for the first time marked a paradigm shift for Julius. “It was one of the leadership summits that left an indelible mark on my life,” he recalls. Determined to multiply that impact, Julius brought the insights he gained back home, sharing them with leaders in his own network.

Julius hails from a region deeply affected by the Boko Haram insurgency, where communities have been torn apart and countless families displaced. In response, he and his network raised funds to empower 100 widows—providing support for small-scale farming and business initiatives that now help them feed their families and send their children to school.

But the ripple effect of the Summit didn’t stop there. At one of the GLS sites Julius coordinates, a woman was moved by a Grander Vision story to take bold action. She started a school to help address Nigeria’s overwhelming education crisis, where more than 20 million children are currently out of school. For Julius, it was a powerful reminder that one inspired leader can ignite change that reaches far beyond themselves.

Today, Julius produces GLS events at five sites across northeastern Nigeria—bringing world-class leadership development to regions that need it most. He’s driven by a passion for raising up leaders, planting churches, and investing in long-term community transformation.

“Everyone wins when a leader gets better,” Julius says. And in his case, leaders across Nigeria are winning—because one man was willing to say yes to growth, even in the face of adversity.
