We see the business that has grown, the people who have been helped or the idea that became successful. What we don’t always see is the moment before any of it existed—the decision to begin.

For Wunmi, that meant leaving the security of her career to pursue something new.

Through her fashion school, women are learning practical fashion skills alongside the entrepreneurial and management capabilities needed to turn those skills into sustainable businesses.

Some graduates have gone on to launch their own ready-to-wear businesses. Some are now employing and training others.

It is a powerful picture of the ripple effect of leadership.

One leader grows. That leader invests in someone else. That person gains the confidence and skills to create something of their own. And suddenly, one decision is creating opportunities far beyond the person who originally made it.

That is why investing in leadership is never only about personal advancement. When leaders grow, their increased capacity can create possibilities for the people around them.

You Don’t Need to Have the Whole Journey Figured Out

It is particularly relevant for anyone standing at the beginning of something new.

But leadership growth often happens differently. We learn, take a step, reflect, adjust and keep growing.

The question isn’t always, Can I see the entire path?
